Circulation Plus Decoction is a modern preparation of the classical formula in TCM, Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang.

Main ingredients: Persica, Carthamus, Angelica, Rehmannia. etc.

Functions and indications: Invigorates the circulation of qi and blood, eliminates stagnant blood (especially from the head and upper body). Vasodilator, antispasmodic anti-platelet action. Especially good for blood stagnation patterns of the upper body and head.

Typical uses include post-concussion or head trauma syndrome, facial pain (including localised migraine headaches and trigeminal neuralgia), post herpetic neuralgia, chest pain, hypochondriac pain and other chronic localised pain syndromes.

Used for gynaecological disorders of a qi and blood stagnation type, including dysmenorrhoea, endometriosis, painful fibroids, ovarian cysts, recurrent abnormal uterine bleeding and infertility.

Applicable to

Acute and chronic, physical or severe, or unresolved emotional trauma, bruising, slow healing wounds or broken bones.

Circulatory disorders such as peripheral vascular insufficiency, varicose veins, cerebrovascular insufficiency.

Raynauf's syndrome, Buerger's disease, vasculitis and chronic phlebitis, chronic depression, extreme mood swings, bipolar mood disorder, schizophrenia and chronic insomnia.

　　组方：当归三钱（9克），生地三钱（9克），桃仁四钱（12克），红花三钱（9克）、枳壳二钱（6克），赤芍二钱（6克）、柴胡一钱（3克），甘草二钱（6克），桔梗一钱半（4.5克），川芎一钱半（4.5克），牛膝三钱（9克）。

　　方剂特点功效：本方由桃红四物汤（桃仁、红花、当归、川芎、生地、赤芍）合四逆散（柴胡、枳壳、甘草、赤芍）加桔梗、牛膝而成。方中以桃红四物汤活血化瘀而养血，防纯化瘀之伤正；四逆散疏理肝气，使气行则血行；加桔梗引药上行达于胸中（血府）；牛膝引瘀血下行而通利血脉。诸药相合，构成理气活血之剂。本方以活血化瘀而不伤正、疏肝理气而不耗气为特点，达到运气活血、祛瘀止痛的功效。

　　方剂主治：本方为王清任用于治疗“胸中血府血瘀”诸症之名方。即由于肝郁气滞、气滞血瘀所致头痛、胸痛、憋闷、急躁、肝气病及用归脾治疗无效的心跳心忙、胸不任物或胸任重物、夜睡多梦、失眠不安、发热、饮水即呛、干呕、呃逆、食从胸后下等症，均可用本方治疗。

　　主要适应病症神经精神系统病症：如头痛、偏头痛、三叉神经痛、神经衰弱综合征、脑外伤后遗症、脑水肿、脑血管病、癫痫、脑囊虫、脑积水、脑动脉硬化、眩晕、麻痹震颤、精神分裂症等。

　　心血管系统病症：如冠心病、心绞痛、肺源性心脏病、风湿性心脏病、无脉症、血栓性静脉炎等。

补阳还五汤

补阳还五汤方出自王清任所著《医林改错》，由黄芪、当归尾、赤芍、地龙、川芎、桃仁、红花组成，方中重用黄芪四两为主药。原方用于治疗半身不遂，口眼歪斜，语言謇涩，口角流涎，大便干燥，小便频数，遗尿不禁等脑血管意外所致后遗症。此方问世后，历代医家运用其治疗广大的脑血管意外后遗症患者，收到了显著的效果，提高了患者生活与生存质量，降低了致残率。近代医家逐渐扩大该方的使用范围，同样收到显著的疗效。

实验研究补阳还五汤

　　(1)对血液流变学的影响
　　中风患者血液处于"粘、浓、凝、聚"的倾向，运用本方后，能增加血小板内环磷酸腺甙的含量，抑制血小板聚集和释放反应，抑制和溶解血栓，以改善微循环，促进侧枝循环。

　　(2)对心、脑血管系统的药理作用
　　补阳还五汤静脉注射，有缓慢、持久的降压作用，对麻醉家兔能显著地增强心肌收缩幅度，反映心肌耗氧量的心肌张力时间指数显著降低，心肌营养性血流量明显增加。

　　(3)对免疫功能的影响
　　补阳还五汤能使免疫功能低下小鼠的免疫器官重量增加，提高单核巨噬细胞吞噬功能，从而表明本方具有增强机体免疫功能的药理学基础。

临床使用

常用于中风后的治疗。以半身不遂，口眼歪斜，苔白脉缓或脉细无力为证治要点。
常用于脑血管意外后遗症，以及其他原因引起的偏瘫、截瘫，或上肢或下肢痿软属气虚血瘀者。

临床上使用补阳还五汤加减治疗癃闭（前列腺肥大）、五十肩（肩关节周围炎）、顽固性半身出汗等症，有良好的疗效。

临床上使用补阳还五汤治疗足跟痛、老年性皮肤瘙痒症、椎—基底动脉供血不足等疾病，有良好的疗效。

补阳还五汤新用

补阳还五汤加味治疗格林巴利综合症（中医痿证）、颜面神经炎、颅底骨折后遗症等。

中风后遗症
