A modification of classical foundation prescription, "Six Flavor Rehmanni," with adding Ophiopogon and Schisandra, for nourishing the lung and kidney to promote the secretion of body fluids, helpful to cough, hemoptysis, hectic fever and night sweat due to deficiency of vital essence of the lung and kidney.

Ingredients: Rehmannia (Shu Di Huang), Cornus (Shan Zhu Yu), Dioscorea (Shan Yao), Alisma (Ze Xie), Peony Bark (Mu Dan Pi), Poria (Fu Ling), Lilyturf (Mai Men Dong), Schizandra (Wu Wei Zi)

Functions and Indications: Nourishing the lung and kidney to promote the secretion of body fluids. Use for deficiency of yin of the lung and the kidney marked by daily recurring fever, night sweating, dryness of the throat, cough with thin sputum, hemoptysis, dizziness, tinnitus, aching and limpness of the loins and knees, nocturnal emissions with symptoms of low back pain and feverish sensation on the palms, diabetes with symptoms of dry mouth and throat, red tongue with dry and little coating, deficient and rapid pulse.*

Directions: As dietary supplement take 8 concentrated pills each time, three times a day.

Caution: Avoid pungent flavor food.

止咳、祛痰、平喘

咳嗽是呼吸系统疾病的主要症状之一，本身不是一种独立的疾病，而是一种清除呼吸道异物的防御性反应。常有咳嗽症状的疾病有感冒、支气管炎、咽炎、过敏、肺炎、胸膜炎、肺结核、肺心病、肺癌等等。

哮喘是由于急、慢性支气管炎、呼吸道过敏症、肺炎（包括非典）、肺纤维化等多种呼吸系统疾病引起支气管慢性炎症、支气管痉挛而出现的临床症状，哮喘发作时患者呼吸困难，全身细胞处于缺氧状态，临床表现为：咳喘、气喘、痰多、胸闷、喉痒、干咳、呼吸困难、心悸多汗、严重烦燥、喘鸣有声、心跳紊乱、血压下降、甚至窒息死亡。

中医认为哮喘发作是由于正气虚，邪气实，邪过盛导致肺、脾、肾脏腑功能失调，以致气阴两虚，痰火湿壅阻而缠绵难愈。患者往往先因呼吸道免疫功能较弱（中医称肺虚），在受到外界感染、过敏或气候因素影响时，开始咳嗽（外邪侵入）。久咳导致脾伤，水湿停聚，产生许多痰。肾伤而纳气不力，肺气上逆而喘。

咳嗽
1、风寒咳嗽症见：咳嗽痰多、痰液清稀、咽痒、伴有头痛，鼻寒，发热、怕冷等。可服通宣理肺丸（口服液、颗粒剂、胶囊）、镇咳宁胶囊、桂龙咳喘宁胶囊、参苏丸（参苏理肺丸）、小青龙颗粒（合剂）、风寒咳嗽丸、止嗽青果丸（口服液）。

2、风热头痛症见：咳嗽有痰、痰液稠黄、咽痛，伴有头胀、发热等。可服桑菊感冒片、羚羊清肺丸、止咳川贝枇杷露、急支糖浆。

3、燥热咳嗽症见：咳嗽痰少或干咳无痰或痰粘不易咯出，咽喉干痛，口燥鼻干等。可服养阴清肺膏（糖浆、口服液）、蜜炼川贝枇杷膏、川贝止咳露、二母宁嗽丸（颗粒、冲剂）、秋梨润肺膏、秋梨膏、蛇胆川贝枇杷膏。

4、肺炎咳嗽症见：咳嗽气逆，痰黄稠粘，咽干口渴，大便秘结等，可服清肺抑火丸、清气化痰丸、急支糖浆、羚羊清肺丸。

5、痰湿咳嗽症见：咳嗽痰多、痰稀白粘，容易咯出，伴有干呕、恶心等。可服二陈丸、橘红丸、止咳橘红口服液、复方百部止咳冲剂。

6、阴虚咳嗽症见：久咳不止、痰少而粘、形体消瘦、口燥咽干、咳声嘶哑等。可服养阴清肺膏（丸、糖浆、口服液）、百合固金丸（浓缩丸、口服液）、二冬膏、贝母二冬膏。

【包装规格】每瓶200粒浓缩丸，每8丸相当于原生药3克
【主要成分】麦冬60g 五味子40g 熟地黄160g 山茱萸（制）0g 山药80g等。
【功能与主治】滋肾养肺。用于肺肾阴亏，潮热盗汗，咽干咳血，眩晕耳鸣，腰膝酸软，消渴。
