Chuan Xin Lian is made of andrographis herb with dondelion and woad root.

Ingredients: Each 250 mg tablet contains 1.3 grams of concnetrated herbal extract consisting of andrographis leaves (Andrographis paniculata) , dandelion (Taraxacum mongolicum) and woad root (lstatis tinctoria). Tablet coating colored with FD & C yellow 5 (Tartazine) and FD & C yellow 6.

Chinese researchers have attested to the potential of Chuan Xin Lian Tablet. The andrographis herb extract is rich in amino acids, choline, taraxasterol (a triterpene), and beta-sitosterol, an important phytosterol. The herbs present in this product are classified in the Chinese Herbal Materia Medica as possessing antimicrobial properties.

Actions: Clearing away heat, removing toxic materials and dampness, cooling the blood, resolving inflammation, soothing the throat.

Indications: Common cold of wind-heat type, epidemic diseases with the symptoms of fever, headache, asthma, cough due to the lung-heat, pulmonary abscess, swollen and sore throat, acute throat inflammations with swollen glands and fever, acute gastritis, urinary tract infection, snake bite, eczema, diarrhea and dysentery due to damp-heat pathogen.*

Directions: As a herbal supplement for adults take 2 to 3 tablets 3 times a day with warm water.

穿心莲片

该品主要成份为穿心莲干浸膏，临床主要用于感冒发热、咽喉肿痛、口舌生疮、顿咳劳嗽、泄泻痢疾、热淋涩痛、痈肿疮疡、毒蛇啼伤等症状。其主要功能为清热解毒、凉血、消肿。凡证属瘟疫，温毒等病症多可应用。

现代常用于上呼吸道感染，尿路感染，冠心病，肝炎，慢性腹泻，脓疱疮，鼻炎等。

1. 上呼吸道感染：用穿心莲片治疗急性上呼吸道感染104例，疗效显著。用大剂量穿心莲治疗小儿病毒性顽固性上呼吸道感染也取得显效。

2. 泌尿系感染：有报导用穿心莲片治疗急性肾盂肾炎、膀胱炎64例，痊愈58例，占90.6%，好转4例，无效2例。

3. 脓疱疮：有人用穿心莲胶囊内服外擦治疗脓疱疮210例，疗效显著。

4. 慢性鼻炎：用穿心莲治疗慢性鼻炎140例，有效113例，治疗慢性鼻窦炎104例，有效85例，总有效率达81%。

5. 湿热痢：用穿心莲静脉滴注治疗湿热痢100例，疗效满意。

6. 婴幼儿慢性腹泻：采用补锌和穿心莲穴位封闭治疗婴幼儿慢性腹泻，取得了显著疗效。

7. 急性黄疸型肝炎：用穿心莲注射液治疗急性黄疸型肝炎，取得良好疗效。

8. 冠心病：研究认为，穿心莲在冠心病的防治方面具有一定前景。

9. 其他：有报道，本品可用于顽固荨麻疹，咳嗽，急性扁桃体炎。

現代研究証實本方具有抗菌消炎。抗病毒，利尿，降壓作用。

現代臨床治療

急性蜂窩織炎，外傷感染，感冒，急性扁桃體炎，咽喉炎，支氣管炎，肺炎，急性腸炎，痢疾，尿道炎，膀胱炎，化膿性中耳炎，辯証符合上述適應範圍者宜用。

方劑組合使用

與龍膽瀉肝丸合用，治下焦濕熱，或下焦火毒
與小柴胡湯丸合用，治少陽證之乳腺炎，及中耳炎
與黃連解毒丸合用，治感染引起發熱；濕熱型痤瘡及疔癤
與加味逍遙丸合用，治經前痤瘡疔癤重症
