Understanding of Efficacy and Results of Treatment with Black Lily Hair Tonic

Standards of efficacy for treatment of MPA (Male Pattern Alopecia)
Full recovery: lanugo growth all over the affected area, while terminal hair covering more than half of the area, with good cosmetic effect;
Significant efficacy: lanugo growth all over the affected area, while terminal hair covering less than half of the area;
Efficacy: lanugo growth all over the affected area together with some terminal hair;
No efficacy: no lanugo growth, or lanugo growth covering less than 1/3 of the affected area.
Standards of efficacy for treatment of AA (Alopecia Areata)
Full recovery: terminal hair growth covering all the affected areas with satisfactory cosmetic effect;

Black Lily Hair Tonic has the effect of dilating the blood vessels in the scalp, improving the nourishment for the papillae of hair, reducing inflammation around hair follicles, and prolonging the growth period of hair follicles. It can promote hair regeneration, prevent baldness, stop itching, remove dandruff, and reduce the secretion of scalp sebum.

The clinical application of Black Lily Hair Tonic shows that the total rate of efficacy is 89.8%, and the rate of significant efficacy is 38.8% with an average of 5 weeks use before the medicine takes effect. The total rate of efficacy for the treatment of AA is 89.6%, and the rate of significant efficacy is 44.2% with an average application period of 2.8 weeks before it takes effect. For 107 patients, the shortest period of treatment is one month and the longest six months, averaging 2.14 months. The efficacy rate, significant efficacy rate and cure rate are proportional to the length of treatment period. It means that better results are achieved with those patients who receive the long periods of treatment.

In treating MPA and AA, Black Lily Hair Tonic is quite effective, quick in taking effect, and has no side effects. It is one of the best hair tonics available at present and is well appreciated by alopecia patients. Among the cases treated, 11 patients showed no positive response th this hair tonic. An analysis shows that the following reasons: First, the application was intermittent rather than consistent, or it lasted too short and stopped before the medicine could take effect; therefore, the fact that the treatment did not achieve a result did not mean that the medicine was not effective. Second, the conditions of the patients were severe and had long history of illness. Results especially unsatisfactory with some of patients who were in an active stage of alopecia and showed strong positive reaction to a depilation test.

Typical Cases

Miss Liao, 22 years old. She came to clinic for treatment on March 4, 1994, after suffering repeated alopecia together with AA for 3 years. Three years ago, the patient had suddenly found her hair was falling off accompanies by AA. She used 101 Hair Tonic and other hair regeneration lotions, but the condition turned for the worse rather than for the better, and the bald areas became larger.
Physical examination: no abnormalities found in systemic examination, AA covering 80% of total scalp area, positive reaction to the depilation test.
Diagnosis: severe AA.
Treatment: Black Lily Hair Tonic prescribed for external application twice daily. On the May 25 visit to the clinic, much growth of hair was found in the two temples and the occiput with negative reaction to the depilation test; on the July 14 visit to the clinic, hair in the above mentioned areas was found growing thick and long; on the August 15 visit to the clinic, it was found that except for the area along the hairline in the occiput where hair was still thin, hair had grown all over the previously bald areas. Terminal hair was about 04-3 cm long, and reaction to the depilation test was negative. Recovery was achieved.

Mr. Guan, 41 years old. With a ten-year history of thinning hair on the top area of the scalp, the patient came to visit the clinic on March 22, 1994. Ten years ago, hair on top of the patient's scalp began to thin and fall off, accompanies by excessive secretion of sebum in the scalp and the face. Two tootles of Lily Effective Hair Stimulater were used externally without effect.
Physical examination: no abnormalities found in an internal medical examination, hair on the top part of the scalp scarce, yellow in color, thin and short, an area of lanugo growth 6 cm in diameter, with lanugo about 0.5 cm in length, scalp found with seborrhea.
Diagnosis: MPA (Type 6 in Hamilton's Classification)
Treatment: The patient was given Black Lily Hair Tonic for external use twice a day. After 2 weeks of treatment, secretion of sebum in the scalp was reduced and some lanugo-like hair began to grow. After two months, some of the lanugo became terminal hair, about 1-1.5 cm long. Five months after treatment, the new hair had become black, thick and long, about 2-3 cm in length, and most of the hair was terminal hair. The treatment reached the standards for significant efficacy.
